Het is crisistijd en dat merkt u aan omzetten die de weg naar boven maar moeizaam kunnen vinden, oplopende kosten en toenemende concurrentie.

Daarom hebben we een nieuwe dienst ontwikkeld waarmee we in staat zijn om de ICT kosten te verlagen bij gelijkbelijvend diensten niveau.

Hoe werkt het:

Wij komen langs om het huidige kosten niveau van uw ICT vast te stellen.

Daarna nemen we interview af om uw toekomstige wensen vast te stellen.

Uitgaande van bovenstaande gecombineerd met onze ervaring op dit gebied, komen wij met voorstellen waarin we aangeven hoe de totale ICT kosten verlaagd kunnen worden. Ook zullen we aangeven waar u vooral niet op moet bezuiningen.

 

26-05-2011 15:11:59 How to vnc to a server that has no graphics or video card at all.

I just built a NAS based on a former game pc (huge enclosure :-).

All went well and I soon finished the 24 TB NAS system but then got annoyed by the fairly loud fan noise. A quick investigation led me to the source: the nvidia video and graphics card.

As a test i then took it out, although i knew my server would be out of any gpu and would possibly not boot at all.

but it did boot, and I was well abel to ssh my way through the rest of the conifgurations ans tuning.

After a while i was wondering if it was possible to vnc in to the thing.

GDM (gnome) would not start, complaining about a missing display:0. I then installed xdm and vnc4server apt-get install xdm vnc4server

And after starting vnc4server on the console (via ssh) I was able to start a rather bare xConsole. (gray background, white terminal in front).

And finally after typing gnome-session in to the terminal....

I was in my gnome desktop :-)

So steps are:

1. install debian with a graphics card. ( and don't forget ssh!)
2. disable bios warnings (so your system will boot even without a graphics card)
3. Remove graphics card
4. Reboot
5. install vnc4server
6. type vnc4server in your console (via ssh remeber the display number vncserver will print in it's result)
7. connect to your server with vncviewer and use ipaddress:1 as host ( :1 being the display number vnc4server printed out
